Dress for Success|Vogues Fashion Night Out Manchester|Clothes Donations|

I do not think that you come across many inspirational people or organisations in your life time, but today I did have the privilege of meeting with Dress for Success in Manchester. They are certainly inspiring and have a team of very motivated people.

The organisation was established in 1997 and operates in 90 cities across America and Europe. Their aim is to get young women on low incomes interview ready, they will help sort the outfit along with styling advise and help with interview techniques. They operate on donations of clothes, shoes, bags and jewellery from this they decide what goes to the clients and what is to be sold. Any money raised from sales go towards paying the rent and other overheads.

The Manchester branch opened it’s doors in May and already has an impressive list of people who are now back to work but it is an ongoing battle to keep the rails full of appropriate clothing.

On thursday we have Vogue’s Fashion Night Out in Manchester and Dress for Success are taking part, there will be drop off points for clothes in Oasis, Long Tall Sally, SimplyBe & LK Bennet. Both Jaeger and Ted Baker will be donating items to the charity and Selfridges will operating a drop off point for shoes & bags only.

What more of an opportunity do you need, make room in your wardrobe for all of those news purchases by donating clothes that will be very much appreciated.
